Sanskrit: “moving on both sides”
Planets other than the Moon occupying both the 2nd and the 12th houses from the Sun.
Both the sign before and the sign after the Sun must be occupied, excluding the Moon and usually the nodes. Because Mercury and Venus are always near the Sun, they are the most common flankers, which makes the yoga somewhat more frequent than the equivalent lunar condition.
Physical wellbeing, standing and material sufficiency — the Sun supported on both flanks rather than alone.
Two dignified benefics flanking an unafflicted Sun is the full expression. Where the flankers are Mercury and Venus — the most likely case — check both for combustion before granting the yoga any weight.
Combustion of either flanker reduces it to the single-sided form. An afflicted or debilitated Sun undermines the structure, since the entire yoga is reckoned from it.
The dashas of both flanking planets, and the Sun’s own six-year mahadasha. The mutual antardashas of the two flankers are the sharpest windows, on the same logic that applies to Durudhara: a yoga defined by two planets is read most fully when both are active at once, which over a lifetime happens only a handful of times.
Shares the disputes of Vesi and Vasi. Sources also differ on whether malefic flankers form the yoga at all or constitute a separate and less favourable condition.
The solar equivalent of Durudhara, and the strongest of the three solar flanking yogas because it requires both positions filled at once.

Create your free kundliA note on how to hold any of this: a yoga is one feature of a chart among many, and no combination decides a life on its own. Classical texts frequently disagree on exact conditions, and a yoga’s effects are traditionally read as arriving during the dasha periods of the planets involved rather than continuously. Be particularly wary of any reading that names a difficult yoga and then offers to sell you the cure.
